20 Contractors and Suppliers Blacklisted

Kathmandu : The Public Procurement Monitoring Office has blacklisted 20 construction contractors and suppliers. The office, which operates under the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, took the decision based on recommendations from various public bodies, in accordance with Section 63 of the Public Procurement Act, 2007 (2063 BS).

According to the office, most of the construction companies have been blacklisted for a period of one year, while some have been barred for up to three years, as per a decision taken on Sunday. Contractors and suppliers placed on the blacklist will not be eligible to participate in any procurement process of public entities for the specified period.

The office stated that a significant number of the blacklisted contractors are associated with the Road Division Offices in Charikot and Baitadi. Likewise, some construction companies recommended by the Agriculture Inputs Company Limited and the Road Improvement and Development Project Directorate have been blacklisted for three years, the Public Procurement Monitoring Office said.
